NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS OF SOUTHWESTERN PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY – SPS/XCEL

REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF 2028 QUADRENNIAL ENERGY EFFICIENCY PLAN

On November 19, 2024, SPS filed an application seeking approval of its 2028 Quadrennial Energy Efficienc Plan and other relief. The case is 24-00269-UT. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF ANNUAL RENEWABLE ENERGY  PLAN

Southwestern Public Service Company (SPS) filed its annual renewable energy application with the NMPRC on April 1, 2025 (Commission Case No. 25-00027-UT). SPS proposes recovering an estimated $29,738,984 in associated costs over a 12-month period beginning January 1, 2026, through its RPS cost rider.  A public hearing on the application is set for Monday, June 16, 2025, at 9 a.m. via Zoom videoconference and will be streamed live on YouTube under the Public Hearings tab of this website.  The period for public comments and protests is open through May 1, 2025. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL TO IMPLEMENT CERTAIN COSTS AND CREDITS TO CUSTOMERS THROUGH FPPCAC

On November 21, 2024, SPS/XCEL filed a petition requesting approval to flow certain costs and credits to its customers through its Fuel and Purchased Power Cost Adjustment Clause produced from new solar battery storage facilities.  The Application was assigned case number 24-00270-UT. A public hearing is set for June 4, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. via Zoom videoconference and will be streamed live on YouTube.

El Paso Electric filed an application on May 1, 2025, requesting approval of its Renewable Energy Act Plan for 2026 and 9th Revised Rate No. 38 – RPS Cost Rider under Case Number 25-00038-UT. A hearing to hear and receive evidence and arguments is set for July 16-17, 2025 at 9 a.m. The hearing will be conducted via videoconference and will be streamed live on the Commission’s YouTube Channel NMPRC_VIDEO. Request for Approval of Solar Generation and Battery Storage Facilities in San Juan County

On March 12, Foxtail Flats Solar and Four Mile Mesa Solar filed an application requesting approval to locate a solar facility and battery storage system on the Ute Mountain Ute’s Tribe Reservation and adjacent lands, approximately 12 miles northwest of Farmington in San Juan County, New Mexico. The application was given Case Numer 25-00019-UT. A public hearing to hear and receive evidence is set for Friday, July 11, 2025, commencing at 9 a.m. The hearing, if one is needed, will be conducted online via videoconference and will be streamed live on the Commission’s YouTube Channel NMPRC_VIDEO. On November 1, 2024, New Mexico Gas Company and Others filed an application for approval of the acquisition of NM Gas Co. by Saturn Utilities Holdco, LLC. The case reference is 24-00266-UT. PROPOSED REVISION OF RULE 16-LINE EXTENSION POLICY

On December 31, 2024, New Mexico Gas Company filed Advice Notice 105 and revised Rule No. 16 concerning its procedures for addressing customers’ requests for extending the company’s gas Distribution Mains and determining its and its customers responsibility for the cost of installing the field equipment to provide the service. This matter has been assigned Case Number 25-00002-UT. The evidentiary public hearing was held Tuesday, May 20, 2025. A recommendation and Commission’s final order are pending. DISH WIRELESS LLC

On April 3, 2023, Dish Wireless filed a petition requesting designation as an eligible telecommunications carrier in New Mexico for the limited purpose of offering lifeline service to qualified households.  The petition was assigned case number 23-00115-UT. The public hearing is set for June 20, 2025, at 9 a.m. online via Zoom videoconference and will be streamed live on YouTube through this website.

SBI Broadband, LLC.

On November 1, 2024, SBI Broadband, LLC.  filed an application requesting designation as an eligible telecommunications carrier in New Mexico.  The case of reference is 24-00081-UT. The public hearing was held on  March 28, 2025, and a recommendation and final order are pending.

Tracfone nka Verizon Value, Inc.

On July 18, 2024, TracFone, now known as Verizon Value, Inc. filed a petition under Case Number 24-00244-UT, requesting approval to expand its ETC service area to include tribal lands so it can provide Tribal Lifeline service to elegible households.  The public hearing was held Tuesday, May 6, 2025. A final order is pending.
