NMGC Acquisition Case Information

Case no. 24-00266-UT, In the matter of the joint applications for approval to acquire New Mexico Gas Company Inc. by Saturn Utilities Holdco LLC.

In October 2024, a joint application was submitted to the NMPRC by Emera Inc., NMGC, Saturn Utilities Holdco, and their affiliates, requesting approval of the sale of NMGC by Emera and the acquisition of the company by Saturn Holdco. If approved, Saturn Holdco will replace Emera Inc. as owner of NMGC. .

UPDATE: On May 20, 2026, Hearing Examiners issued a Recommended Decision on the proposed sale of New Mexico Gas Co. The full Commission will make a Final determination in the case in the near future.
